What is "Too Expensive" ?

So you visit Photographer Joe, because he says to you "My sitting fee, is $75, and that is due the day of the session". Sounds great right? So photographer Joe gives you an hour or so of his time, usually in one spot, whether at his studio or at a park. He may allow a clothing change, but while you are changing, the clock is ticking away, eating up that hour or two that you have for your session.

Still happy?

Photographer Joe calls you some weeks later, to tell you your images are done. It's time to order. You love the images !! LETS ORDER SOME!! Where photographer Joe zaps you, is in the print prices. OOOOPS!

First off, most likely he will charge anywhere from $100 to $200 for the disc of proofs. He will probably charge at least 15 to 20 dollars for 8 die cut, foil stamped wallets, at least $25 to $30 for an 8x10, so on and so forth. The fortune you spend, may come in the form of prints ordered, NOT your session fee. Plus, does he place a restriction on time? Clothing changes? Are his cheap session fees for studio only? These are all things to consider when choosing the right photographer for your child's senior portraits.

I am loving my senior sessions this year. Seniors, now more than ever, know what they want out of their senior portrait sessions. They definately aren't wanting the standard, "stand by a tree, or a garden" photo. They want edgy, artsy, and totally out of the ordinary!

I don't blame them..who wants their senior photos to resemble 100 of their classmates photos? And on that note, lol, they are always trying to outdo the "others" photos with originality, and they want a photographer who can give them that.

Of course, they still want their interests and their "special things" represented in some of their photos!

(and some even want to incorporate their "love life" into the photos)

This has been a good and creative season with these seniors!! Congrats to the 2011 Seniors, looking forward to 2012

Alex loves to hunt, and loves his dog, Jack and he definately wanted these things incorporated into his senior images!

Alex said to me..."Since I was young, I have always wanted, in my car.. red dice, a hula ornament, and an 8-ball on my shifter" so we definately needed to get this shot...

Senior season has been very busy for KellyLynne Photography. But I have to tell you, i've been blessed with the coolest seniors this year. Wow, what can I say? Kaila is a natural when it comes to posing, and "loving" the camera. We had so much fun, photographing in downtown Grand Rapids. Kaila was fun and spunky and full of energy, and that came through in her photos for sure!
